What is the history of Meesha's Gyros?
Meesha's Gyros has been in business since 1989. It was previously owned by a sole proprietor who ran the business until 2006. He decided to retire and instead of letting the wonderful Meesha's taste retire with him, an ownership group of previous customers and employees got together to keep Meesha's alive. Meesha's Gyros was previously known as Habibi's and House of Kabob.
Who is Meesha?
There is no one named Meesha that has any affiliation with the restaurant Meesha's Gyros. "Meesha" means "Bear" in Russian. ROLL ON YOU BEARS!!!
How do I properly place an
order for a Plate?
First you ask for the type of dish that you want
(Ex: Chicken, Lamb, Falafel, etc.). Next you decide whether you want
that dish over Rice or with 2 Pita Bread. The plate comes with a Garden
Salad and a Side Dish. So the next part of your order is to choose a
side dish (Hummus, Baba Gannoush, Potato Salad, or Extra Garden
Salad). Almost there. Next you mention whether you want your dish
spicy or not. Some options here are Medium, Spicy, Extra Spicy, or Not
Spicy at all. Lastly you mention whether you want the plate for Here or
To Go. So the next time you come in, you might sound a little
something like this: "Can I please have the Chicken Plate, Rice, Potato
Salad, Spicy, To Go"....or...."May I please order the Falafel Plate, with
Pita Bread, Hummus, Not Spicy, For Here". It makes our job a lot
easier and it makes you sound like a Meesha's pro.

How do I properly place an
order for a Gyro Wrap?
Ordering a Large Gyro Wrap is a lot like ordering a Plate. First you ask for the filling (Chicken, Lamb, Falafel, etc.). Next you ask for the Spread you want on your Pita Bread. The Spread can be any one of the Side Dishes offered on the Plate (Hummus, Baba Gannoush, Potato Salad). The default for the Spread is Hummus. So if you don't ask, that's what you'll get. Most of our customers like Hummus the best anyways. Lastly, you finish your order by mentioning if you want it Spicy or Not and whether you want to eat Here or To Go. So next time try a "Large Chicken Gyro, Spicy, To Go" or a "Large Falafel Gyro, with Baba Gannoush, Extra Spicy, For Here."
What is Baba Gannoush?
Baba Gannoush is a puree of Grilled Eggplant seasoned wiht lemon, garlic and spices. We offer it as a Side Dish on our Plates or as a Spread on the Large Gyro Wrap. It is also a term used quite frequently by Owen Wilson's character John Beckwith in the movie Wedding Crashers.
How do I properly eat a
Meesha’s Gyro Wrap
It is very important that you eat your Meesha's Gyro Wrap this way to avoid gyro collapse: DO NOT, we repeat, DO NOT take all the foil off your wrap and try to eat it that way. This will only create a mess, cause you to try Gyro reassembly without success, and result in absolute embarassment. Instead, take the foil off of the wrap one small strip at a time as you work your way down the gyro. Trust us, we speak from years of experience. Once you get to the bottom, it's okay to slurp up the mixture of juices and sauces that have collected with time.
